A Proven Treatment

At The Back Clinic we treat the underlying causes of chronic back pain. Our treatment has been shown in published medical studies to be both highly effective and lasting. Our treatment combines the very best in manual physiotherapy techniques with our exclusive MedX® rehabilitation equipment. A study by Nelson et al. that was published in "Orthopedics" in 1995 looked at outcomes for 627 chronic low back pain patients who completed a programme whose primary treatment (MedX® Lumbar Extension Machine) was intensive, specific exercise using firm pelvic stabilization to isolate and rehabilitate the lumbar spine musculature. The study found that 76% of patients experienced "both substantial pain relief and substantial improvement in strength" compared to a control group of 107 patients that were not treated and that at 1-year follow up 94% of patients reported maintaining their improvement.
